About The Position

The Director of Design & Content is the creative leader responsible for shaping, elevating, and executing Dan-O’s visual and content expression across all touchpoints. This role owns creative direction, concept development, and day-to-day execution, ensuring the brand shows up consistently, creatively, and on time. This is both a hands-on creative role and a strategic leadership role.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in creative, design or content roles
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing creative teams
  • Strong background in brand design, content and campaign development
  • Proven ability to concept, not just execute
  • Experience working with fast-paced brands or consumer products
  • Experience in CPG, food, beverage, or lifestyle brands
  • Video-first mindset with an eye for storytelling
  • Experience working with founder or personality-driven brands
  • Demonstrates strong creative instincts with a sharp eye for detail
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, both written and verbal
  • Stays organized, proactive, and consistently meets deadlines
  • Balances big-picture strategy with hands-on execution
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously without losing momentum

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve Dan-O’s visual identity, creative standards, and content voice.
  • Ensure all creative work aligns with brand positioning, tone, and purpose.
  • Serve as the creative decision-maker while encouraging strong ideas from the team.
  • Continuously raise the creative bar while staying true to the Dan-O’s brand.
  • Lead creative conception for: New product launches Seasonal and evergreen campaigns Email marketing Paid and organic digital media Retail and shopper marketing assets
  • Translate marketing briefs into clear creative direction and standout concepts.
  • Ensure creative ideas are platform-appropriate and execution-ready
  • Drive content development, including concepting and staging content, based on the annual marketing calendar.
  • Ensure a steady pipeline of high-quality content across: Email Social (organic & paid) Website & e-commerce Video platforms
  • Balanced planned content with real-time and opportunistic moments.
  • Ensure content ladders up to broader band and business goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a creative team, including videographers/photographers, content producers and designers.
  • Set clear priorities, timelines and expectations for the team.
  • Manage creative workflows to ensure projects are delivered on time and on brief.
  • Partner with marketing leadership to resources projects appropriately.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive and high performing creative culture.
