About the position
The Director of Compounding Operations will be responsible for leading and supporting the compound pharmacy team in producing and dispensing prescriptions in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves overseeing the compounding labs, staff, and support personnel, as well as ensuring compliance and strategic development. The primary focus is on executing pharmaceutical compounding production needs on a large scale. The Director will provide leadership to the pharmacy lab operations and work towards promoting clinical excellence and exceptional patient care. This role can be remote with travel or based in New Albany, OH with regular travel to Gilbert, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, scale, and support the compound pharmacy team
- Oversee compounding labs, compound pharmacy staff, and support personnel
- Execute pharmaceutical compounding production needs
- Provide leadership to the pharmacy lab operations
- Promote clinical excellence in every process within the lab
- Work as a member of the corporate interdisciplinary team
- Lead and support daily operations at two compounding labs
- Build and lead a team for high-volume production
- Ensure successful launch of new product lines
- Develop and execute strategies to improve production throughput efficiencies
- Evaluate existing processes and equipment to drive efficiency
- Schedule lab team based on production demand and resource availability
- Maintain health of compounding equipment, machinery, and labs
- Manage inventory levels of finished goods and raw materials
- Partner with vendors to innovate automation solutions
- Facilitate needs of R&D team for new product development
- Maintain hiring and staffing plan for compounding department
- Align compounding operations with pharmacy throughput goals
- Perform analysis and research on data to improve business KPIs
- Contact and engage with potential candidates for lab team positions
- Collaborate on development and review of standard operating procedures
- Maintain compliance with FDA and Board of Pharmacy laws and regulations
- Promote security and privacy rules for handling protected health information
- Maintain clean and sanitary work environment
- Conduct one-on-ones and team huddles to promote high performance
- Provide a world-class pharmacy experience for patients
