About The Position

Project Harmony is seeking an experienced and committed Director to join their dynamic and innovative organization. The Director of Community Collaboration & Engagement leads efforts to strengthen community connections, foster multidisciplinary collaboration, and expand awareness of and access to Project Harmony's resources and expertise. This position engages current and prospective MDT participants, represents the organization through community outreach, and supports collaborative initiatives across communities. The Director of Community Collaboration & Engagement reports directly to the VP- Children’s Services and provides leadership to the Multidisciplinary Team and building administration functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in social work, counseling, criminal justice, psychology, communication or other related field
  • 4+ years of leadership in a non-profit or other child-focused program serving children and families
  • Professional experience working with child welfare, human services and/or behavioral health field
  • Knowledge of non-profit administration, program development, research and the utilization of clinical data, fiscal management and supervision of employees
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse and the roles that law enforcement, child protection services, mental/behavioral health and community partners play
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively
  • Excellent active listening, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, confidence and ethical standards
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to resolve conflicts
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check
  • Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

Responsibilities

  • Develops, strengthens, and maintains relationships with community and industry leaders, and other stakeholders to better understand emerging needs, barriers, and opportunities for collaboration
  • Identifies and engages communities and organizations that may benefit from greater connection to multidisciplinary resources, education, and collaborative support
  • Provides leadership and oversight for Project Harmony’s multidisciplinary team functions, promoting meaningful participation, communication, engagement, and collaboration among MDT community members
  • Oversees building administration functions to support a professional, responsive, and welcoming environment for employees, partners, clients, and community members
  • Manage hiring process of Multidisciplinary and Administrative team staff and evaluation of employee performance, coaching and development
  • Collaborates across programs and departments to ensure community engagement efforts are coordinated, responsive, and aligned with Project Harmony’s initiatives
  • Monitor quality and consistency of multidisciplinary teams, including engagement, protocols, collaborative practices, and recommend improvements that strengthen effectiveness and partner experience
  • Facilitate a comprehensive review of child abuse and neglect reports received by law enforcement and child protective services pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. § 28-710, evaluating system effectiveness and identifying opportunities for system improvement
  • Ensure MDT members receive applicable operational and cross-discipline training as it relates to the collaborative efforts of the MDT
  • Use data and other relevant information to evaluate and report on team performance, service delivery, community and MDT engagement, and case outcomes
  • Ensure accurate and timely collection of metrics needed for organizational, grant, accreditation, leadership and other reporting requirements
  • Provide oversight and review of policies and procedures
  • Deliver presentations locally, regionally and nationally on MDT best practices
  • Ensure culturally competent services are provided to all families we serve without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, gender or sexual orientation
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP – Children’s Services
