About The Position

This role involves shaping and amplifying the voice of Walmart’s President and CEO across social and owned platforms. The Director will manage the CEO’s social channels and podcast, and partner across Communications to coordinate executive voices, ensuring the right message is delivered by the right leader on the right platform at the right moment. The Executive Communications team works with Walmart’s most senior leaders to advance the company’s enterprise narrative and strengthen its reputation. They partner across the business and Global Communications to thoughtfully position executives around the right audiences, channels, and moments, ensuring their individual voices are authentic while working together to tell a clear, coordinated Walmart story. The team develops executive communications strategies and content that help deepen connection to Walmart’s brand and reinforce the company’s position as a people-led, tech-powered omnichannel retailer building the future of retail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field and 5 years’ experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area OR 7 years’ experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Significant experience building social media strategy and executive presence for a CEO, senior executive, or other high-profile leader.
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms, audience expectations, and emerging content formats.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills, with the ability to capture and adapt an executive’s voice across formats.
  • Experience developing podcasts or recurring audio/video content.
  • Strong strategic judgment, executive presence, and discretion.
  • Experience using analytics and audience insights to improve performance.
  • Ability to connect content to broader communications priorities and influence across a complex organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a staff member of a government official.
  • Master's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Working in a global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the CEO’s social presence across platforms, building an authentic voice that advances Walmart’s priorities and reputation.
  • Develop compelling posts, video, and other content that makes complex topics accessible, relevant, and human.
  • Manage editorial strategy, guest development, production, distribution, and promotion of the CEO’s podcast.
  • Partner across Communications to coordinate executive voices and enterprise moments.
  • Apply analytics, cultural trends, and platform developments to continually strengthen strategy.
  • Develop briefings, scripts, talking points, and other executive content to support CEO communications.
