About The Position

The Director of Commercial Sales – Workspace Solutions is directly responsible for developing and implementing the Workspace Solutions strategy for the Ubique Group’s channels, including both business-to-business distribution and our Direct to Consumer sites. This position is responsible for creating and implementing strategies for growth, developing and maintaining pricing methodologies for the channel to ensure growth of both the outside B2B distribution market and our own internal sites, programming and business development / key account management to drive sales and profit throughout the channel. This position will work closely with the other key leaders in the Commercial team to ensure cross-channel collaboration and consistency, to promote opportunities within the assigned vertical to introduce and grow adjacent categories of products and to help identify and develop new product offerings to meet customer demand, working closely with the marketing and product development teams. This position will work across the Commercial and eTail accounts and collaborate with the account managers to ensure appropriate market coverage for the vertical and will work cross-functionally with the internal digital team to maintain a market leadership position through our micro-sites.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree.
  • 5+ years of wholesale / distribution channel sales or sales leadership experience; vertical / category marketing experience is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 year’s experience sales/sales leadership positions across all industries.
  • Exceptional computer proficiency in MS Office and publications software.
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills and management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and implementing successful sales and marketing programs for the channel, to include establishing marketing and sales strategy plans and strategic pricing initiatives to capture market share and to achieve budget in terms of both top and bottom line.
  • Acts as a strategic partner to the senior leadership team to develop and execute strategic business plans to ensure goals and objectives are met including but not limited to: developing sales goals and budgets, fiscal year plan, daily, weekly, and monthly sales reporting budget, pricing strategies, specific account management plans and other sales and sales strategy activities.
  • Direct, develop, and manage team of sales professionals to build distribution in the assigned territories.
  • Design and provide recommendations for systems to support the sales team and assist them in achieving goals and measuring results.
  • Develop our relationships and drive sales with the core B2B and eTail accounts by partnering with the large contract business units and by driving expansion of their current assortments.
  • Work in close coordination with other sales leaders to help reduce suppressions, coordinate promotions within established guardrails, and to drive sales of any excess goods.
  • Work closely with demand planning team to help achieve optimization of our forecasting and inventory levels, and gain deeper alignment with our large accounts in JBP/forecasting in order to achieve healthy in-stocks.
  • Enhance the overall service model to ensure customer satisfaction, profitability and retention, and creating new methods of accountability to support the highest level of service and performance throughout the company.
  • Analyze reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to identify potential growth areas, capture market share, and identify trends and monitoring depletions and make recommendations to the senior leadership team.
  • Conduct routine sales activities such as market visits, sales meetings, trade shows, dinners and events.
  • Analyze new product opportunities for increased sales and incremental market share gains.
  • Communicate business plans, programs, incentives and pricing to sales management and provide timely updates as they occur.
  • Develop and mentor subordinates, including sales associates and sales support/operations analysts, to grow their skills and business acumen.
  • Responsible for staffing, staffing planning, conducting performance appraisals on direct reports, budgeting, ensuring compliance with training requirements, developing direct reports and controlling division expenditures.
  • Meets agreed upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner.
