About The Position

Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Director, Codes & Standards - Data Centers & Direct Current Applications. Eaton’s Enterprise Engineering Codes & Standards Center of Excellence is seeking a director with a specialized focus on codes and standards for data centers and direct current (DC) engineering applications. This leadership role is responsible for setting strategy, ensuring compliance, and influencing industry standards to support innovation and safety across global operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in codes and standards, including work with compliance and standards organizations
  • Must have or obtain passport and be willing to travel internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in IEC, NFPA, and UL standards for data centers and DC systems.
  • Technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, DC power systems, and product safety regulations.
  • Experience in influencing codes-making processes and participation in standards committees.
  • Strong understanding of power converters (UPS, inverters, chargers) and new product development processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies for compliance with codes and standards across Electrical and Industrial Sectors, with emphasis on data centers and DC systems.
  • Interpret and apply relevant standards to new and existing products, ensuring feasibility and compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and validation teams to ensure certification and ongoing compliance.
  • Advise business units and sales teams on regulatory considerations for data centers and DC applications.
  • Represent Eaton at industry meetings and standards committees to influence development and stay ahead of changes.
  • Prepare technical papers and deliver seminars on codes and standards for data centers and DC engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with major international standards for data centers and DC systems, summarized as follows: IEC Standards: Electrical safety, DC circuit protection, power converters, and automation for reliable operation. NFPA Standards: Electrical installation, maintenance, workplace safety, and fire protection for IT and telecom facilities. UL Standards: Product safety and performance for electrical equipment, wiring, UPS systems, and stationary batteries.
