The Department of Medicine is the largest academic and clinical department at the University of Rochester Medical Center. The Department is made up of 15 divisions of primary and specialty care, with complex organizations working towards the University’s tripartite missions of patient care, education and research. The department includes over 700 providers, 200 residents and fellows, and over 800 staff. We conduct over 530,000 outpatient visits per year, as well as 16,000 inpatient discharges. The Director role is responsible for oversight and implementation of all administrative/operational aspects of the Department of Medicine. The Director is responsible for the oversight and implementation of the Department’s $200M clinical operation spanning across local and regional locations. Collaborates with Medicine Department and Division leadership to adapt, develop, and implement academic, research and clinical plans consistent with service objectives of the Department, Medical Center and University. Additionally, the position aligns the Departmental enterprise ambulatory care programs with the development of key performance indicators, analytics, staffing ratios and best practice by consulting and collaborating with key departmental and enterprise leaders/managers. The Director oversees all aspects of space management for the Department’s more than 360,000sq footprint, and drives prioritization of all space projects, including laboratory and clinical research, academic, officing and clinical patient care needs. The Director will be part of the Medicine leadership/management team and will identify and provide input to prioritizing projects based on the University and Department strategic plans and objectives.
