Director Client Services

NoGoodNew York, NY
$100,000 - $130,000Hybrid

About The Position

This is a newly created position designed to build the commercial and financial backbone that allows NoGood to scale —without sacrificing margin, quality, or operational control. You’ll sit at the intersection of finance, operations, and client services, owning the systems, contracts, and commercial decisions that determine sustainable growth. You’ll be a strategic partner to senior leadership, directly shaping how we price, staff, structure deals, and manage client economics.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in revenue operations, finance, or commercial strategy ideally in an agency, professional services, or B2B environment
  • Strong financial acumen: you can build a margin model, interpret a P&L, and make commercial recommendations grounded in real numbers
  • Direct experience managing contracts and commercial relationships with clients or customers
  • Proven track record of building operational systems that enabled a company or team to scale not just maintaining existing processes
  • Comfort with technology and a genuine understanding of how AI is changing business operations (you don’t need to be technical, but you need to be fluent)
  • Excellent communication skills—you can represent the company’s commercial interests in a room with a CFO as easily as with a marketing director

Nice To Haves

  • Background in or exposure to digital marketing, growth marketing, or performance marketing agencies
  • Experience with tools like HubSpot, ClickUp, or similar CRM/project management platforms
  • Familiarity with agency economics: utilization, blended rates, scope-based vs. retainer pricing models
  • Experience at a company that scaled from $5–10M to $15–25M+ in revenue—you know what breaks at that stage and how to fix it
  • MBA or CPA a plus, but not required if you have the right operational experience

Responsibilities

  • Own the revenue operations infrastructure: forecasting, pipeline management, capacity planning, and financial reporting across the client portfolio
  • Build and maintain margin models at the client, squad, and service-line level—ensuring every engagement is commercially viable as we scale
  • Partner with leadership on pricing strategy, rate card evolution, and deal structuring to protect margins while remaining competitive
  • Develop the financial frameworks that guide decisions on when to hire, when to invest, and when to hold—translating growth ambitions into executable financial plans
  • Track and report on key financial KPIs: revenue per client, gross margin, utilization rates, client lifetime value, and cost-to-serve
  • Help to draft and negotiate renewals amendments and scope changes across all client engagements
  • Serve as the commercial point of contact for clients on contract terms, pricing adjustments, and expansion discussions
  • Standardize and templatize commercial agreements to reduce legal overhead and accelerate deal velocity as client count grows
  • Identify and manage commercial risk scope creep, under-priced engagements, payment terms that strain cash flow—before they become problems
  • Build the operational playbook for client health monitoring: early warning systems for churn risk, expansion signals, and margin erosion
  • Partner with the growth and client services teams to ensure smooth handoffs between sales, onboarding, and ongoing delivery
  • Design the operational systems that allow us to add 10+ clients per year without proportional headcount growth—process automation, standardized workflows, and smarter resource allocation
  • Evaluate and implement tools and technology (including AI-powered solutions) that improve commercial operations efficiency
  • Build the reporting infrastructure that gives leadership real-time visibility into commercial performance and capacity
  • Develop the hiring and capacity models that connect revenue growth to staffing decisions—ensuring we’re always right-sized for the work
