The Opportunity: The Director, Client Coding Integrations serves as a key client-facing between the client and internal coding teams, ensuring coding-related performance, quality, and issue resolution stay on track. This leader partners closely with internal stakeholders and client executives to monitor coding KPIs, troubleshoot barriers, and drive action plans and sustainable improvements. Work location: Tallahassee, FL with an expectation of being onsite ~50% of the time (per business needs). Client engagement: Periodic travel to client sites may be required (often aligned to recurring/quarterly touchpoints).

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in provider coding, HIM/coding operations, coding quality, or revenue cycle functions with strong client-facing accountability.
  • Proven ability to lead complex issue resolution using root cause analysis and structured action planning across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of coding operations and the ability to communicate credibly with coding teams, physicians, and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and developing people leaders (e.g., managers) and/or audit/quality teams.
  • Excellent executive presence, facilitation, and written/verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multi-client portfolios (assignment may vary based on client size/complexity)
  • Familiarity with EMR/clinical documentation and/or coding workflow transformation work in complex provider environments.
  • Background partnering with compliance, audit, and physician leadership in provider coding environments.
  • Active professional coding certification, such as: RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) CPC / CPC‑H (Certified Professional Coder / Hospital)

Responsibilities

  • Client Partnership & Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary coding-integration leader for assigned revenue cycle clients, acting as the liaison between client leadership and internal coding teams.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders including C-suite executives, physicians, and (as needed) client compliance partners.
  • Lead recurring client-facing meetings (including service line and department-level forums) to review performance, risks, and progress against action plans.
  • Operational Oversight, KPI Performance & Issue Resolution Monitor coding performance indicators and work queues; identify trends, gaps, and constraints impacting turnaround times and outcomes.
  • Drive root cause analysis and lead corrective action plans in partnership with internal and client teams until resolution is achieved.
  • Partner cross-functionally (including adjacent revenue cycle/client teams) to streamline workflows and remove non-coding work from coder workflows when appropriate.
  • People Leadership & Quality/Audit Support Provide leadership oversight for a structure that may include a manager and auditors supporting provider quality reviews (e.g., annual E&M/provider audits), scaled by client size/need.
  • Coach and develop leaders and teams to deliver consistent, high-quality client experiences and measurable improvements.
  • Strategic Collaboration Align with internal partners to ensure coding integration work supports broader revenue cycle outcomes (e.g., productivity, cash performance, charge turnaround).
