About The Position

Lincoln Land Community College is seeking a Child Development Center Director to provide leadership for the college’s Child Development Center and help create a high-quality environment where children, families, students, and educators can thrive. This role provides leadership and supervision for staff, daily operations, programs, and services, while overseeing the Center’s operating budget, staff scheduling, accounting procedures, and employee performance. The Director also builds strong connections between the Child Development Center, LLCC’s child development program, and faculty to support meaningful learning opportunities for students and children. The Director will coordinate the Child and Adult Care Food Program and ensure the Center meets applicable Illinois Department of Early Childhood standards, NAEYC accreditation guidelines, early childhood grant requirements, and ExceleRate Illinois criteria.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development or related field, with an Illinois Director Credential Level II.
  • At least three years of administrative experience in full-day early childhood program including experience working with grant funded programs.
  • At least three 3 years of professional involvement in the field of early care and education.
  • Professional contributions such as serving in a leadership role in Early Childhood professional organizations or giving presentations or training related to the field of early care and education.
  • Classroom experience with children between ages 2-5.
  • Supervision and conflict resolution skills.
  • Current physical and TB test and current record of immunizations including 1 dose of Tdap and 2 doses of MMR vaccine or evidence of immunity to MMR.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check, drug-screen, physical, and functional capacity exam.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development or related fields with an Illinois Director Credential Level III.

Responsibilities
