About The Position

The Director, Cell & Gene Therapy - New Business Development is responsible for executing strategies and tactics to ensure business development opportunities are integrated across business units. The Director, Cell & Gene Therapy New Business Development will also collaborate with all services and sales teams in multiple business units to continuously execute the integrated selling processes for improved manufacturer partnership opportunities and to drive revenue growth.

Requirements

  • Requires broad training in fields such as Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Normally requires a minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years related and progressively responsible experience in consultative selling for high-end products in life sciences.
  • Experience selling to biopharma partners is required
  • Healthcare marketing, business development, and account-based sales experience required
  • Experience in business unit offerings is preferred
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment and standing out as a successful collaborator
  • Ability to analyze and improve sales processes and tools, including proposals
  • Experience in analyzing buyer behaviors to capitalize on selling opportunities
  • Experience in developing effective metrics for sales operations success
  • A self-starter with a proven ability in sales management, sales operations process, planning and goal setting, successful strategic and consultative selling techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, for the purpose of preparing reports and disseminating information. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative working and business relationships
  • Understands future trends in general health care
  • Strong presentation skills;
  • Superior analytical skills relative to financial modeling; fluent in profitability calculations, Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into small and mid-sized biotech is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Cultivates relationships at the highest levels of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies; establishes relationships with individuals to maximize intra-client opportunities.
  • Maintains strong client relationships to develop new and expanded business opportunities resulting from ongoing work.
  • Develops custom sales presentations and produces proposals in keeping with agreed upon templates; designs research plans that are customized to the needs of each client.
  • Monitor and track pipeline
  • Works directly with subject matter experts during the sales process in order to develop and execute strategies using company solutions to address customer specific needs identified during the exploration phase.
  • Leverage content marketing resources, conferences, customer events, corporate websites, and social media channels to enhance lead generation
  • Drives ongoing enhancements to the business development process and technology for integrated business development.
  • Ability to speak knowledgeably and confidently about Cencora’s services as they relate to the business unit
  • Monitor and analyze industry news related to key accounts and communicate opportunities and challenges where appropriate
  • Gathers information, analyzes and develops strategies concerning dynamics that may affect the business relationship, such as changes in customer ownership or new affiliations, current market share and targets of opportunities for new growth, customers' changing requirements, competitor strengths and weaknesses, and continually communicates these strategies internally using verbal discussion and written business plans.
  • Understands the customer’s organizations, business strategy and objectives, in order to generate new opportunities and ensure teams’ ability to meet customer needs.
  • Ensures the management of internal processes to ensure all opportunities are identified, structured, and executed properly and expeditiously, as needed.
  • Ensures detailed, accurate, up-to-date prospect and client information is kept in specified business system and works closely with related teams to ensure smooth implementation and account management.
  • Performs related duties as assigned
