About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President, Capacity, Access & Flow, the Director, Capacity, Access & Flow – East Region will lead regional strategies that improve patient access, strengthen system capacity and support better flow across hospital and community care. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a systems thinker who can translate data, partnerships and strategy into sustainable improvements for patients, providers and communities. This role is regional in nature and pertinent to the needs of the East Region.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Clinical experience is required
  • Minimum 8 years of experience leading, developing, and supporting teams through projects, programs, and/or direct people leadership in a complex clinical or healthcare environment.
  • Ability to think conceptually, plan flexibly, identify continual opportunities for improvement, and operate effectively in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of local health issues, priorities and needs while recognizing the broader trends in health care policy and system development.
  • Practical experience in change and quality improvement methods and tools, and the ability to draw on leading practices to adapt and apply these skills.
  • Exceptional leader with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage, develop, and mobilize teams across the organization and with external partners.
  • Skilled negotiator and collaborative decision-maker who can navigate complex issues and competing priorities effectively.
  • Advanced training in Patient Flow, Health Care Improvement, Project Management and Change Management
  • Experience in leading large scale change initiatives with demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex projects to meet aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to apply Performance improvement philosophy, principles and technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach issues and challenges in an innovative and creative manner.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong facilitator, trainer, and presenter with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of regional capacity, access and flow strategies that improve system performance and patient experience.
  • Using provincial and regional data to identify trends, barriers, gaps and opportunities, and translating insights into practical action plans.
  • Building strong partnerships with hospitals, community providers, and internal teams to align initiatives and advance shared system priorities.
  • Championing innovative programs, partnerships and improvement opportunities that increase clinical capacity and support better flow across the health system.
  • Representing the East Region at key planning and coordination tables, helping shape priorities, best practices and resource decisions.
