Reporting to the Deputy Chief, Self Government, the Director, Cabinet and Legislative Services provides leadership and oversight of legislative and statutory functions of the MN–S Cabinet and Legislative Services. The Director is responsible for all aspects of legislative services, ensuring sound processes, policies and controls are in place to support administrative operations within Legislative Services including, but not limited to, the Provincial Métis Council (PMC), Standing Committees, Métis Nation Legislative Assembly (MNLA), and the General Assembly (GA). The Director services as a technical advisor, contributing to organizational leadership, good governance and the achievement of strategic priorities. This position manages the planning and coordination of all meetings and leads strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting for Legislative Services while contributing to the advancement of Métis peoples right to self-governance and maintaining strong internal controls that promote accountability, transparency and service excellence to Métis citizens. This position is accountable to ensure legislative procedures align with the highest standards of legislative and cabinet systems, respect Métis customs and traditions, and is compliant with the Constitution of The Métis Nation – Saskatchewan, Métis Nation Legislative Assembly Act, Provincial Métis Council Meeting Rules and Procedures, and the Provincial Métis Council Conduct Policy.
