About The Position
The Director, Business Strategy leads the development and execution of organizational vision through comprehensive market analysis and strategic planning. This role drives cross-functional initiatives, oversees change management, and champions continuous improvement to enhance business performance. By aligning resources, managing key performance indicators, and fostering collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders, the Director ensures successful implementation of business strategies. This position also focuses on talent development, governance, and maintaining high standards of integrity while promoting operational excellence and customer-centric solutions across the organization. About the team... The Global Governance Strategy team aligns strategy, priorities, and execution across Walmart’s Global Governance organization. Collaborating with Legal, Ethics, Compliance, Security, and other governance functions, the team translates enterprise priorities into clear strategies, operating plans, and measurable outcomes. Serving as strategic advisors and integrators, they connect cross-functional work, identify opportunities to reduce complexity, and support leaders in decision implementation. The team shapes operating rhythms, governance, and strategic initiatives to anticipate future needs, strengthen business partnerships, and ensure Walmart delivers results effectively and responsibly.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in developing and executing comprehensive business strategies aligned with organizational vision and market analysis.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing change initiatives to drive adoption and performance.
- Ability to analyze financial statements, key performance indicators, and operational processes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Experience in business planning, governance, compliance strategy, and succession planning to support sustainable growth.
- Skilled in expectation management, stakeholder communication, and delivering measurable business results.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a culture of accountability and ethical standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 6 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area OR 8 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area.
- 2 years’ supervisory experience

Responsibilities
