About The Position

Leads Walmart's enterprise Digital Operations Center (DOC), providing 24/7 centralized monitoring, operational support, and incident management for critical facilities systems across thousands of stores, clubs, distribution centers, and other locations. The organization is responsible for the real-time health and performance of refrigeration, HVAC, and building automation and controls. Provides strategic leadership for enterprise monitoring operations, leveraging advanced analytics, automation, AI, and connected technologies to detect, prioritize, and resolve operational issues before they impact customers or associates. Partners closely with Facilities Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, Technology, Supply Chain, and external service providers to optimize system reliability, improve asset performance, reduce operating costs, and enhance the customer and associate experience. Oversees operational strategy, vendor performance, process optimization, digital transformation initiatives, and the development of scalable support models that enable proactive maintenance, intelligent dispatch, and data-driven decision-making. Drives innovation through emerging technologies, including AI-powered workflows, predictive monitoring, and enterprise IoT capabilities, while building high-performing teams that deliver operational excellence across Walmart's facilities portfolio. About Team: Digital Operations Center Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both of these stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites. The Digital Operations Center is reponsible for the real-time fault detection, monitoring, and support for critical facilities building control systems. The 24/7 team provides the real-time support and strategic development of monitoring strategies and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 6 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area OR 8 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience
  • Passion for leading and developing people and supporting field technicians.
  • Experience leading a large team and how to build a high-performing team culture that strives to deliver expert resolution for our technicians and stores.
  • Analytical acumen and statistical process control, with experience using analytical tools to solve business problems.
  • Process improvement experience and process automation using Lean Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Digital Operations Center, establishing the vision, operating model, and long-term roadmap for enterprise monitoring, incident management, and remote operational support.
  • Lead 100+ associates and multiple third-party vendors responsible for centralized monitoring, technical support, asset performance, and operational response while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a high level of professional and technical support from a centralized team providing 24/7 support for programming of Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC/R alarm management.
  • Develop and execute enterprise strategies that leverage analytics, automation, AI, and connected technologies to drive condition-based monitoring, improve equipment reliability, optimize dispatch, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Facilities Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, Technology, Supply Chain, International, and external service providers to standardize processes, improve service delivery, and support enterprise business objectives.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives by expanding remote monitoring capabilities, design and implement agentic workflows to drive efficiency, advancing predictive maintenance, and implementing innovative technologies that improve business outcomes and customer experience.
  • Establish performance metrics, governance, and operational standards while ensuring effective vendor management, regulatory compliance, business continuity, and operational resilience.
  • Develop organizational capability by attracting, coaching, and mentoring leaders, fostering a culture of innovation, and building scalable teams prepared to support Walmart's evolving connected asset ecosystem.
