About The Position

The Director, Business Intelligence & Data is an executive role responsible for unifying the company's data ecosystems across its four business units: a national hot food program serving grocery and convenience store partners, a proprietary grocery chain, a restaurant brand, and a manufacturing operation. This leader owns the company's data strategy end-to-end, from pipeline architecture and business intelligence reporting to predictive analytics and executive-level insight. The Director, Business Intelligence & Data serves as a key liaison to the leadership team, translating business complexity into data advantage, and works closely with the CEO and senior leaders to align the data function with company-wide priorities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data, analytics, or data engineering, with management and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling a data function within a complex, multi-unit or multi-brand organization
  • Strong fluency across the data stack, including data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, and BI/visualization
  • Experience engaging with and presenting to C-suite or executive audiences
  • Track record of building and developing high-performing technical teams
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern data platforms and BI tooling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across functions and levels

Nice To Haves

  • Power BI experience preferred

  • Develop and maintain the data platform roadmap, including tooling, infrastructure, and capability investments
  • Lead, grow, and mentor the Data & Reporting department, including Data Engineering, Data Operations, Power BI, and any future roles
  • Define team structure, hiring plans, and career development frameworks as the function scales
  • Build a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department
  • Conduct performance reviews and support the professional development of all direct and indirect reports
  • Partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to ensure data strategy supports company-wide priorities and decision-making
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, actionable narratives for executive and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure data assets serve business decisions across all units
  • Build credibility and trust across business units as a strategic partner, not only a technical resource

  • Own data governance, quality standards, and access controls across all data environments
  • Manage the department budget, vendor contracts, and technology procurement
  • Ensure data practices meet regulatory, security, and compliance requirements
