About The Position

The Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics leads a team of two analysts and serves as the data and analytics partner across Farmers’ Life Insurance organization. The role transforms how the business accesses and uses data, turning insights from distribution and sales, new business, and customer and agent experience into decisions that support profitable growth. The team owns and evolves field-facing and operational reports and dashboards, builds statistical models, and provides analysis for high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives. The director influences data and analytics strategy, reviews and approves analytics initiatives, oversees existing data products, and develops ideas with business leaders through implementation. This leader develops advanced analytics solutions, including models that improve understanding of the application funnel, policy placement, and persistency, as well as Power BI dashboards for agents, field leaders, and operations teams. The role partners with leaders across distribution and sales, customer and agent experience, and operations to identify opportunities, define analytics requirements and business plans, and drive work to resolution. It also applies knowledge of financial services and Life Insurance data, including cloud-based data storage and sharing, while balancing business needs with regulatory and compliance requirements. The director consults on UAT, technical specifications, strategic planning, contract design, testing, and training, and independently leads highly complex projects with little to no guidance. As a people leader, the director supervises, coaches, and manages two analysts, provides feedback, supports professional development, and builds a high-performance and innovative culture. The role creates and executes strategic plans for the team and partners across three or more business domains, communicates strategy to audiences new to analytics, and helps enable enterprise priorities.
