About The Position

Kymera is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the field of targeted protein degradation (TPD) to develop medicines that address critical health problems and have the potential to dramatically improve patients’ lives. Kymera is deploying TPD to address disease targets and pathways inaccessible with conventional therapeutics. Having advanced the first degrader into the clinic for immunological diseases, Kymera is focused on building an industry-leading pipeline of oral small molecule degraders to provide a new generation of convenient, highly effective therapies for patients with these conditions. Founded in 2016, Kymera has been recognized as one of Boston’s top workplaces for the past several years.

Requirements

  • An advanced degree — PhD, MD, or MBA — that reflects both scientific fluency and business acumen.
  • 8+ years of experience in business development, corporate development, or strategy consulting in biopharma.
  • Experience across the full deal lifecycle: sourcing, diligence, negotiation, and structuring.
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong strategic judgment, the ability to work independently and represent Kymera externally
  • NPV modeling, forecasting, and comparables analysis with the ability to communicate results clearly.
  • A track record of evaluating opportunities from both a scientific and commercial perspective.
  • Working knowledge of biopharma R&D (experience with small molecules is a plus), clinical development, and regulatory pathways
  • Excellent negotiation, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Kymera's business development strategy, positioning our targeted protein degradation platform and pipeline at the center of strategic partnerships.
  • Identify, evaluate, and close strategic transactions with leading biopharma companies— spanning both buy- and sell-side opportunities.
  • Own transactions end to end, from initial opportunity through signature agreement, working closely with R&D, legal, finance, and outside counsel.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional diligence teams.
  • Prepare high-quality partnering materials, including presentations, term sheets, valuation models to support transaction processes.
  • Lead search and evaluation processes for prioritized external opportunities.
  • Develop financial analyses, including forecasts, comparables, and NPV valuations, to inform critical decisions.
  • Lead negotiation and execution of collaboration agreements (licensing and collaboration agreements, SRAs, MTAs, and CDAs) in close partnership with internal and external council.
  • Represent Kymera in the industry, building relationships with BD counterparts at current and potential partner companies
  • Represent Kymera at partnering conferences and industry events (eg. JPM, BIO) to build and maintain relationships with potential partners and support S&E activity.
