The Director will also manage, direct, and evaluate assigned staff, develop work schedules, and handle employee concerns. Additionally, the position requires organizing and assigning work, ensuring departmental compliance with all applicable codes and regulations, developing and implementing departmental plans and policies, and administering the department budget. The role also involves analyzing proposed codes and regulations, processing documentation, and utilizing computer software for various tasks. Communication with various stakeholders, including county administrators, contractors, and the public, is essential. The work is sedentary and requires mental acuity and effective communication skills. The work environment is relatively safe and secure.
