About The Position

Willis Towers Watson Northeast, Inc. is seeking a Director – Broking to assist the Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Institutions, Credit Risk Solutions. This role involves developing and servicing key Financial Institutions clients, expanding business with new clients, and strengthening the New York office’s capabilities in placing insurance for complex Financial Institution risks. The position will also play a crucial role in educating U.S. insurers on complex placements and reinforcing WTW’s position as an expert broker in New York and London. The Director will advise clients on structuring, placing, and managing international credit and political risk insurance programs and carbon insurance offerings, leveraging deep expertise in global insurance markets. Responsibilities include the day-to-day management of major global Financial Institutions accounts and arranging/placing various complex risks across U.S., London, and global insurance markets. The role requires understanding and supporting clients’ long-term strategic objectives, developing new business, and strengthening relationships with insurers. A key aspect is developing and executing strategic plans to expand WTW’s leading position for global Financial Institutions, Export Credit Agencies, and private credit funds through a global placement strategy and cross-office collaboration between New York and London. The Director will lead marketing efforts, coordinate with insurers, and enhance client relationships. Support for the New York office’s placement infrastructure, GB Broking Platform implementation, compliance, systems, and procedures is also required, ensuring alignment with London operations. The role includes marketing WTW’s Mercury platform, developing staff training, and recruiting new colleagues. Part-time telecommuting is permitted, with 10% domestic and international travel required.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in global insurance markets.
  • Experience in placing insurance for complex Financial Institution risks.
  • Experience advising clients on the structuring, placement, and management of international credit and political risk insurance programs and carbon insurance offerings.
  • Experience arranging and placing bank nonpayment, project finance, political violence, and carbon credit non delivery/nonpayment risks.

Responsibilities
