About The Position

Toromont Cat is looking for a Director, Marketing Brand & Strategy. Reporting to the Corporate VP of Marketing, the Branding & Strategy Marketing Director at Toromont plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s branding and marketing communication strategy. In this capacity, the director acts as a strategic partner to each business unit, providing guidance on go-to-market (GTM) approaches and leading the development, execution, and improvement of communication strategy. Success in this position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a collaborative approach, as the director is results-driven, consistently striving to achieve and exceed targets by uniting teams’ efforts around shared goals, maintaining a committed focus on the customer, and effectively managing a team of Marketing Specialists, Market Analysts, and agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, or related field
  • 10 years + of experience in branding, communication and leadership roles (managing teams, agencies, or cross-functional projects)
  • Experience in B2B and multi-divisions
  • Exceptional leadership skills and ability to influence
  • Strategic thinking & business acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Decision-making and prioritization
  • Team development and coaching

Responsibilities

  • Develop and uphold comprehensive branding guidelines for Toromont and its divisions, ensuring consistent brand identity, clear values, and strong positioning across all customer interactions and channels, in compliance with Caterpillar brand guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough market research to inform strategy and identify new opportunities. This involves leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research gathering and analyzing data on industry trends, competitor activities, customer preferences, VOB and emerging trends.
  • Build and ensure execution of comprehensive multi-channel communication strategies that strengthen awareness on brand values, maximize reach and conversion, partnering with the corporate marketing performance team and division's Marketing Manager.
  • Partnering with HR to streamline internal communication channels and enhance the employer brand by developing and executing effective internal communication strategies and producing engaging content that builds employee pride and increases organizational engagement.
  • Develop and apply strong Customer Experience (CX) measurement frameworks and processes to enhance the customer journey, working closely with the operational team to make sure that the experience consistently meets the expectations and needs of target audience.
  • Manage and coordinate a comprehensive marketing initiatives calendar for all channels, aligning these efforts with every division based on target customers and Caterpillar's communications initiatives.
