About The Position

We are seeking a passionate, creative and people-centric Director of Brand and Communications to lead the development and execution of the company’s brand, marketing, and communications strategy. This role works hands-on with senior leadership across our multiple businesses to strengthen market positioning, elevate brand visibility, and ensure consistent messaging across all external and internal communications. With the support of a small but mighty brand and communications team, you will have the opportunity push the boundaries and reimagine a long-term marketing plan that demonstrates our businesses value propositions and supports business goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience within a B2B Brand, Marketing and/or Communications role including 3+ years leading teams and working alongside senior executives;
  • Expertise with email marketing platforms such as ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, or comparable tools, including campaign strategy, automation, audience segmentation, and performance tracking;
  • Advanced proficiency with design and content creation tools including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Canva, with a strong eye for visual storytelling and brand consistency;
  • Confident communicator in a variety of settings including pitching new ideas to executives, facilitating brain-storming sessions, hosting panels and speaking at events;
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly related to branding, messaging consistency, and quality of deliverables, ideally in a multi-brand business;
  • Unwavering alignment to our values including your team management and executive influence; you build trust and relationships easily, you manage with respect and expect excellence from yourself and the people around you.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an ongoing 3–5 year marketing and brand roadmap aligned with corporate and divisional growth strategies;
  • Lead market positioning strategy and strategic relationships to strengthen our brand presence for expansion markets including Toronto and Nashville;
  • Build a scalable and cohesive brand infrastructure (content libraries, case studies, templates, sector positioning materials) to support growth across regions;
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform positioning and messaging;
  • Leverage analytics and data to strategically design marketing and branding campaigns to exceed project and initiative goals;
  • Ensure consistent brand standards across all external materials, job sites, sponsorships, digital platforms, and client-facing documents.
  • Guide all types of executive and internal communications needs, such as people changes, business direction, growth priorities and market expansion;
  • Lead company-wide communication strategies related to change, ensuring leaders and teams receive clear, consistent messaging during periods of transition, major initiatives, and organizational evolution;
  • Manage reactive and proactive crisis communications plans, ensuring our internal teams are prepared, aligned and informed;
  • Support the development of our proposals by generating new ideas and helping our business development leaders create clear, consistent, and high-quality materials that reflect Axiom Builder’s voice, standards, and brand, particularly in growth markets or for new project types.
  • Mentor and develop the Brand & Communications team, supporting individual growth through coaching, clear expectations, and regular feedback;
  • Build cross-functional capability and out-of-the-box thinking across proposals, communications, and marketing work, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency;
  • Foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment, encouraging open communication, shared ownership of work, and strong alignment with leaders across the organization.

  • The base salary (hourly wage) range for this role is $140,000 to $170,000, adjusted for experience, plus a competitive, clear and reliable bonus program.
