About The Position

We are looking for a Director, Brand and Communications who will be responsible for building and protecting Silk & Snow’s brand equity across all touchpoints. This role will support the long-term brand vision, lead integrated communications strategy, and act as the internal champion for how the brand shows up in culture. Direct responsibilities will be to own and refine Silk & Snow’s holistic brand strategy, ensuring brand consistency, and aiding in the creative development of key brand-centered mass-marketing campaigns (influencer, organic social, PR, and experiential). The role ensures brand health (awareness, consideration, trust, reputation etc.) while ensuring innovation in Silk & Snow’s brand and storytelling opportunities. You’ll be developing and managing brand partnerships, affiliates, social presence, and communications (both internal and external) - while also working closely with our marketing team to develop brand-relevant full-funnel strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Marketing, Communications, Business or a relevant field, or experience demonstrated by progressive responsibilities
  • 6-10+ years of progressive experience in brand, communications, and campaign leadership, with a proven track record of delivering brand growth; DTC experience is a definite asset for this role
  • Must have excellent coaching/mentoring, organizational, time management (tight deadlines), presentation, negotiation, influencing, relationship-building, communication (verbal/written) skills
  • Strong creative leadership in briefing, evaluation, and production oversight
  • Expert vendor management across partnerships, affiliates, influencers, and agency partners
  • Fluency in audience research, segmentation and insight generation; familiarity with brand tracking and creative testing methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience owning and managing a brand marketing budget
  • Comfort with brand health tracking and translating data into strategic decision
  • Ability to cross-collaborate with multiple departments
  • A culture add to the strong, positive work culture of Silk & Snow

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the 3-year, 1-year, and quarterly brand marketing strategies, aligned to organizational OKRs
  • Refine brand positioning, architecture, and messaging frameworks - and work closely with our internal art team to govern brand guidelines from a visual perspective
  • Lead brand health management including tracking and diagnostics
  • Own and actively manage our brand partnerships strategies, ensuring strategic selection of partnerships to facilitate growth
  • Manage influencer marketing initiatives to ensure creative innovation and performance
  • Work alongside our marketing team to develop integrated communications plans across paid, owned, and earned channels, in partnership with growth and media
  • Own our affiliate marketing strategies from a brand-first perspective, ensuring proper management of relationships and growth
  • Manage a team of two individuals, and aid in their professional development
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current trends that may affect the Silk & Snow brand and provide content recommendations as a result
  • Develop and execute earned media and PR strategies, including media relations, press moments, and crisis communications
  • Serve as a key brand spokesperson, aligning leadership, product, and growth teams around brand positioning
  • Lead experiential marketing activations that drive brand awareness and cultural awareness
  • Help build and scale marketing team over time, with a clear vision for org structure and hiring
