About The Position

Meta is seeking an experienced Director to join its corporate legal team as Board Liaison, serving as a key connection between the Board of Directors and senior leadership. The role is central to the Board’s operating rhythm, including the materials that inform decisions, meetings where decisions are made, and records that document them. The position works directly with C-suite executives and public company directors and requires skill, discretion, strategic thinking, and strong execution. It reports to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary and partners with teams across Legal, Finance, Executive Operations, Investor Relations, and Communications. The role is based in Menlo Park and requires regular in-person presence around Board and committee meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate governance, board operations, executive operations, program management, or strategy and operations.
  • Experience supporting or interacting directly with C-suite executives and board members in a high-stakes, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience owning a recurring, non-negotiable delivery cycle end to end and coordinating inputs from stakeholders outside the reporting line.
  • Experience drafting and editing executive-level written materials, with demonstrated precision and attention to detail.
  • Experience handling confidential and market-sensitive information with discretion.
  • Experience building or improving cross-functional processes.
  • Organizational problem-solving, strategic development, execution, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of relevant experience within a public company, corporate secretary’s office, board operations function, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting Board committees such as Audit, Compensation, or Nominating & Governance.
  • Experience with the public company annual meeting and proxy statement cycle.
  • Experience with board portal platforms and governance recordkeeping systems.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry or at global scale across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Chartered Governance Professional, GPC.D, or comparable governance credential.
  • Advanced degree.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end production of Board and committee materials, coordinating, editing, and distributing decks and pre-reads with the corporate legal team and content owners against a fixed calendar.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between the Board and internal teams, ensuring directors receive timely, accurate, and well-framed information.
  • Draft governance documents, including meeting minutes, resolutions, consents, and charters, and coordinate their review and execution.
  • Help design and run programming for Board meetings, committee sessions, and Board events, including agendas, logistics, presenter preparation, and follow-through on action items.
  • Partner with the Corporate Secretary team on Board strategic initiatives, including new director onboarding, governance practice updates, and the annual meeting cycle.
  • Improve and scale Board operations processes, replacing manual coordination with durable systems as the Board’s cadence and information needs evolve.
  • Lead cross-functional special projects on compressed timelines, often with limited precedent and high executive visibility.
  • Maintain, together with responsible attorneys, the company’s corporate records and governance documentation as the authoritative source of truth.
