About The Position

The Director of Ambulatory Nursing - Neuroscience provides strategic and operational leadership for a comprehensive neuroscience program, including the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), outpatient EEG services, and pediatric neuroscience clinics across Central Florida. This role is responsible for advancing clinical excellence, driving quality outcomes, and leading strategic growth initiatives across both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Nursing and with a dotted line to the Chief of Neuroscience, the Nurse Director collaborates across disciplines to ensure seamless, high-quality care delivery and service line expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Current RN license in the State of Florida required
  • American Heart Association BLS required
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive leadership experience in neuroscience, pediatrics, or ambulatory care settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree in Nursing (MSN) is preferred
  • Certification in Nursing Administration or Neuroscience Nursing (e.g., CNML, CNRN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement strategic plans to expand neuroscience services, with a focus on pediatric neurology and outpatient EEG across the region
  • Collaborate with physician leaders and operational teams to identify and execute growth opportunities
  • Lead initiatives to improve access, optimize workflows, and enhance patient experience across multiple outpatient sites
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and evidence-based care
  • In collaboration with others, obtains or maintains NAEC level 4 requirements for the EMU
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators including patient outcomes, throughput, and satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS)
  • Oversee nursing operations in the EMU, outpatient EEG, and pediatric neuroscience clinics
  • Manage staffing and resource allocation to support efficient and effective care delivery
  • Standardize care through implementation of clinical pathways and best practices
  • Participate in budget development and hit financial targets
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing nursing and clinical teams
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports professional development and shared governance
  • Lead change management efforts and promote innovation in care delivery
