About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody values of excellence, compassion, teamwork, and purpose to join their Ambulatory Services leadership team as the Director of Ambulatory Clinical Operations, Hospital Operations Department (HOPD). This role provides administrative direction to multi-disciplinary care centers, focusing on quality management and enhanced customer service. The Director leads all facets of patient care, is accountable for business and unit plans that ensure quality and efficient resource utilization, and aligns the care center vision with the organization's mission, values, and excellence goals. This position may involve 24-hour accountability, administrative decision-making, leadership, and strategic planning for personnel, operations, and fiscal integrity, aiming to optimize the patient and family experience across all Ambulatory Services. The Director acts as a partner to the organization's leadership team, participating in strategic planning and goal attainment for their areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Masters of Nursing or related field is required or actively enrolled.
  • Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires completion Clinical Specialty Professional Certification within 1 year upon meeting eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative direction to multi-disciplinary care centers with an emphasis on quality management and enhanced customer service.
  • Provides leadership in all facets of patient care.
  • Accountable for the initiation and completion of business and unit plans that ensure quality while utilizing available resources efficiently.
  • Accountable for alignment of the care center vision with the organization mission, values and excellence goals (people, service, financial, clinical).
  • May be responsible for 24-hour accountability and for providing administrative decision making, leadership, and strategic planning involving the efficient use of personnel, operations, and fiscal integrity of the Operations.
  • Optimizing the patient and family experience through to all Ambulatory Services operations.
  • Acts as a partner of the organization leadership team and participates in the strategic planning and the attainment of goals for all areas of responsibility.
