About The Position

The Director of AI Strategy & Transformation will serve as a key strategic leader helping shape and accelerate Johnson & Johnson’s enterprise AI and data agenda. This role will partner closely with senior executives, AI leaders and business stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities, drive cross-functional initiatives, establish governance and operating models and translate emerging AI and data priorities into measurable business outcomes. The Johnson & Johnson AI Council (JJAIC) and Johnson & Johnson Data Management Council (JJDMC) are critical mechanisms through which this leader will drive enterprise alignment, decision making and execution. This role will serve as a key partner to the Co-Chairs of both the JJAIC and JJDMC. This role will report to the Senior Director, Technology, Strategy & Innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Familiarity with AI and generative AI trends and opportunities in industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to frame ambiguous problems, develop structured recommendations and drive organizational alignment.
  • Proven success in strategy development, project management, process improvement, and execution of enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage audiences across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and influence outcomes across complex organizations.
  • Experience advising senior executives on strategic initiatives or organizational transformation.
  • Experience leading change management efforts that support strategic transformation.
  • Experience translating strategic priorities into measurable plans, outcomes, and performance metrics.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent advanced business degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, enterprise transformation, Chief of staff or strategic planning roles strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Connect with and understand AI and data related initiatives and needs across sector- and function-based teams to identify areas in which the JJAIC and JJDMC can create value for the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with JJAIC and JJDMC Co-Chairs and other senior leadership to define and prioritize strategic initiatives that support the Council’s strategic priorities.
  • Identify emerging opportunities to accelerate AI adoption across Johnson & Johnson and develop recommendations for enterprise investment, prioritization, and execution.
  • Facilitate workstream/sprint sessions, working with cross-functional teams to prioritize deliverables, develop strategic plans, and align timelines for current and future initiatives.
  • Manage the workstream portfolio by launching new sprints, closing completed ones, and providing guidance and support to sprint leads as needed.
  • Monitor industry trends and turn insights into strategies and operational improvements, while bringing external perspectives to the Council and facilitating sessions as needed.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to JJAIC and JJDMC leadership and senior executives, providing external perspectives, strategic analysis and recommendations on enterprise AI priorities, opportunities, risks and operating models
  • Develop executive level communications, including business cases, narratives and decision frameworks
  • Drive alignment across business, technology, data, legal and governance stakeholders to accelerate AI adoption and business impact
  • Develop and implement frameworks to assess operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive efficiency across sectors and functions.
  • Own and drive the governance processes for collection, calculation, reporting, and monitoring of data quality index on a quarterly basis.
  • Track progress, manage risks, and identify interdependencies across initiatives to maintain alignment, bring teams together where efforts overlap, and proactively mitigate risks or capitalize on opportunities.
  • Present strategic recommendations, performance metrics, and progress updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive Council activities, including preparation, content development, facilitation, and follow-up, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with Council members and teams to facilitate meetings such as monthly updates, executive sponsor briefings, and board presentations.
  • Lead strategic Steering Committee sessions, shaping Council direction and surfacing risks and opportunities.
