About The Position

As a Director, Change Management & Communications Lead within the Enterprise Agile Centre of Excellence (COE), you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the adoption and success of the Agile operating model across CIBC. Reporting to the Senior Director, Design & Change Lead, you’ll develop and execute strategic change management and communication initiatives to support enterprise transformation. You’ll lead the creation of engaging communications, oversee people change management activities, and foster Agile education and awareness throughout the organization. Building strong relationships with senior leaders, HR, and business units, you’ll ensure stakeholders are informed, engaged, and equipped to embrace new ways of working. Your expertise will be key in monitoring progress, identifying risks, and guiding the organization through successful change. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience leading communications and change management in large, complex organizations, ideally within an Agile transformation context.
  • Expertise in change methodologies such as Prosci/ADKAR.
  • Proven track record of delivering impactful training and development programs.
  • Strong project management skills, including managing communication plans, timelines, and objectives effectively.
  • Adaptable and solutions-focused, thriving in ambiguity, demonstrating creative problem-solving, and ability to distill complex strategies into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable delivering presentations at senior and executive levels, with strong written and verbal abilities.
  • Values alignment: trust, teamwork, and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide communications plan that clearly articulates the vision, goals, benefits, and roadmap of the Agile operating model.
  • Oversee the creation of consistent messaging tailored to diverse audiences, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and standards.
  • Lead the design and implementation of people-centric change management strategies and plans to drive adoption of Agile practices.
  • Conduct impact and readiness analyses, maintain risk registers, and tailor engagement approaches to stakeholder needs.
  • Build and nurture relationships with senior leaders, HR, and cross-functional teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on change and communication best practices, gathering feedback to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business and functional leaders to develop and deliver Agile training and communication programs.
  • Support the creation of a culture that embraces continuous learning and adapts to change.
  • Establish adoption and sustainment metrics, monitor progress, and recommend strategies to reinforce target behaviours.
  • Track communication effectiveness and recommend improvements based on feedback and data.
  • Oversee project timelines, define clear objectives, and manage risks to ensure timely and successful delivery of change initiatives.
