About The Position

Smartly is looking for a Director, Agency Activation & Scale to lead the operating system that helps agencies and advertisers activate, adopt, and scale successfully on our platform. This role focuses on creating consistent activation workflows, improving speed to value, and ensuring teams across the business work together effectively to drive customer growth. Reporting to the VP, Solutions, with a dotted line into the SVP, Global Agency Partnerships, you will lead the teams and operational processes that move advertisers from onboarding through scaled adoption. You will work closely with Agency Partnerships, Customer Success, Sales, Product, Support, and Technical teams to create a repeatable and scalable activation model across the agency portfolio.

Requirements

  • Strong experience leading onboarding, activation, solutions, or customer adoption functions in a SaaS, advertising technology, or platform environment
  • Experience managing cross-functional programs and operational execution across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams focused on customer activation, technical account management, or customer delivery
  • Ability to create structure, accountability, and scalable operating processes in complex environments
  • Comfortable driving outcomes across teams without direct organizational ownership of every function involved
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior leaders and external partners
  • Analytical and operational mindset with experience using metrics to improve execution and customer outcomes
  • Bias toward simplification, action, and scalable problem-solving

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the activation operating model across agency partnerships
  • Define scalable processes that move advertisers from onboarding to live campaigns and long-term adoption
  • Lead Agency Activation and Technical Account Management teams, ensuring clear ownership and accountability across advertiser activations
  • Drive improvements in activation performance, including time to first campaign, advertiser adoption, and activation consistency
  • Create and run weekly activation reviews to track progress, identify blockers, and prioritize activation efforts across agencies
  • Partner cross-functionally with Customer Success, Sales, Product, Support, and Agency teams to resolve operational challenges and improve execution
  • Build reporting and visibility into activation health, progression from Pilot to Adoption, and operational risks
  • Develop scalable frameworks, processes, and operating cadences that support agency growth across the portfolio
