About The Position

Manages a team of advisors, counselors, and support staff to empower students for academic and career readiness. Cultivates relationships with various stakeholders and leads strategic planning and operational management initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality support and guidance to students. Salary range: $66,200 - $100,000 per year; DOE Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation (MLFC) seeks a strategic, forward-thinking leader to serve as Director of Advising Systems within the Office of Academic and Career Success. Reporting to the Executive Director of Academic and Career Success, the Director provides strategic and operational leadership for academic advising systems serving undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students across the college. The Director establishes and advances college-wide advising practices, service standards, operational structures, and strategies that support student progression, persistence, and degree completion. The position leads strategic planning for advising services, aligning staffing, technology, data, policies, and practices with enrollment growth, evolving academic programs, and college student success priorities. The Director supervises Associate Directors responsible for pathway-based advising super teams. These interdisciplinary teams bring together academic advising, clinical and experiential placement functions, and holistic student success support to provide coordinated support throughout the student journey. The Director develops and coaches these leaders, establishes expectations and accountability, supports effective team design and workload management, and ensures consistent advising practices while allowing teams to respond to the distinct needs of their student populations. The Office of Academic and Career Success where this position is housed, operates through a systems-of-care approach in which student success is shared across advising, enrollment, holistic support, career and workforce development, and placement functions rather than housed within a single unit.
