About The Position

The Director of the Office of Academic Advising reports to the Chief Enrollment Officer and is responsible for the oversight and direction of all undergraduate advising services operations and personnel. The incumbent is responsible for directing and evaluating the work of the Office of Academic Advising staff. They are responsible for assessment, planning, and providing oversight of academic advising support services delivery for the general undergraduate student population to facilitate progression towards degree completion. The incumbent is expected to play a leadership role in all university initiatives related to academic advising and student success. The Director will actively engage with campus leadership and staff to build strong and collaborative networks to create effective strategies and systems that provide on-going student support leading to improved retention and graduation of students. The incumbent will assess, support, and coordinate activities and programs that involve academic advising service delivery. This is a full-time, exempt position in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.

  • Administrator II classification
  • Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position
  • Must comply with California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act requirements.
  • Must file Conflict of Interest forms.
  • Must disclose if they have received a final administrative or judicial decision determining they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (after meeting minimum qualifications and before offer of employment).
  • Must sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (for final stage applicants).
