About The Position

The Director, Advancement, School of Medicine is responsible for the development of strategies and programs for capital and major gifts fundraising and the direction and management of all fundraising and sponsorship activity within the School of Medicine to maximize public and private support. This role also provides leadership to staff and volunteers to ensure the effective implementation of all programs and appropriate donor recognition and stewardship for School of Medicine donors.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
Six years of related fundraising experience.
Experience in strategic and communication planning.
Experience in project management.
Experience in major gift fundraising.
Experience in marketing.
Experience in donor relations/stewardship.
Experience working with executives, senior level staff and volunteers.
Strong knowledge of the Freedom of Information Protection of Privacy legislation.
Understanding of and respect for the values and culture of a university environment.
Excellent communication (oral, written and presentation) skills.
Excellent leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills including hiring, training, directing and motivating staff and volunteers.
Excellent project management and strategic and communication program planning and evaluation skills.

Responsibilities

Providing leadership to staff and volunteers for effective program implementation.
