About The Position

The mission matters. So do the people behind it. With advancing defense technology at our core, what sets us apart is a culture of collaboration, purpose, and impact. Space is a critical domain, connecting our technologies, our security and our humanity. While others view space as a destination, we see it as a realm of possibilities, where we can do more— we can innovate, invest, inspire and integrate our capabilities to transform the future. At Lockheed Martin Space, we aim to harness the full potential of space to cultivate innovation, reduce costs, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve. We’re creating future-ready solutions, focusing on resiliency and urgency through our 21st Century Security® vision. This director leads a pipeline of programs under the LM Space Ignite, Advanced Capabilities Electro-optics & Security (ACES) directorate. The ACES team conducts applied research and rapid prototyping of systems & subsystems in relevant or operational environments, develops first-of-kind optical systems, and supports national defense with electro-optics and other technologies. This role will lead the creation of discriminating and disruptive technologies, and performance of first-of-kind demonstrations in support of critical national needs. The success of the portfolio is based on providing an integrated end-to-end set of capabilities to provide demonstrations as a service for our stakeholders. Successful execution and value delivery is based on a foundation of repeatable, fast, risk-managed approaches which optimize resources and processes to deliver results.
