The Director of Adult Clinical Pharmacy Services and Education provides clinical, operational, and academic leadership for adult clinical pharmacy practice at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, an 880-bed Level I trauma center and the academic medical center of the West Virginia University School of Medicine. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Pharmacy, the Director is responsible for the design, expansion, staffing, and measured performance of clinical pharmacy services supporting the adult service lines, including the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, the WVU Critical Care and Trauma Institute, and the WVU Medicine Center for Organ Transplantation. Pediatric services at WVU Medicine Children's are outside the scope of this position. The Director also leads the department's education portfolio, including ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs, experiential education in partnership with the WVU School of Pharmacy, preceptor development, and continuing education for pharmacy staff. The position works closely with medical staff, nursing leadership, quality, informatics, and finance to advance the clinical practice model, and partners with system pharmacy leadership to align services across WVU Medicine.
