About The Position

The Director of Addiction Recovery Services directs and supervises the clinical aspects of various addiction-related programs including Co-Occurring Services, Substance Abuse Programs, Domestic Violence programming, TANF/Child Welfare, Medication Assisted Treatment Program, and Gambling services. This role provides overall leadership and direction for these programs, ensuring high-quality, person-centered services. The Director oversees day-to-day clinical and operational functions, maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. They ensure staff have appropriate training for specialized services and that assessment tools are utilized correctly. The position involves informing the Associate Clinical Director/Clinical Director of staff training needs, consultation, education, and orientation of new staff. The Director supervises and supports staff, conducts performance evaluations, promotes professional development, and hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates multidisciplinary team members. They develop, implement, and monitor program goals, policies, and procedures, ensuring clinical services are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. Budget management, expenditure monitoring, and collaboration with finance staff are key responsibilities. The role includes facilitating staff meetings, training, and case consultations, preparing reports, ensuring proper documentation, and supporting data collection. Establishing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations and healthcare providers is crucial, as is identifying and pursuing funding opportunities and contributing to grant applications. The Director represents the organization externally and monitors service outcomes for continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in related field is required
  • 5+ years' of clinical and supervisory experience in mental health services.
  • Must be licensed as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LADC or other mental health professional
  • ODMHSAS Case Manager II Certification, completed within 60 days of eligibility.
  • Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record to use agency and/or personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office and/or for the transportation of clients.
  • Deep understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and the behavioral health continuum of care.
  • Understanding of the principles of clinical supervision and ethical standards in behavioral health professions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise clinical and administrative staff effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and staff coaching.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and foster a collaborative, supportive work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to crises or urgent needs quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and implement changes across programs.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and advocate for equitable access to mental health services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate sound clinical judgment, and uphold professional ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures staff have appropriate training required to perform specialized services and appropriate assessment tools are utilized. Provides staff and community training on addiction and/or drug and alcohol assessment and treatment services.
  • Supervise and support staff including therapists, case managers, and support personnel including any applicable embedded staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and promote professional development.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate multidisciplinary team members (therapists, case managers, peer support specialists, etc.).
  • Develop, implement, and monitor program goals, policies, and procedures that align with organizational objectives and best practices.
  • Ensure clinical services are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive to the needs of diverse populations.
  • Manage program budgets, monitor expenditures, and collaborate with finance staff to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings, training, and interdisciplinary case consultations to promote team collaboration and service quality.
  • Prepare and submit reports, ensure proper documentation, and support data collection for quality assurance and funding requirements.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and referral sources to support coordinated care and outreach.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities; contribute to grant applications and reporting as needed.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings, conferences, and community forums to advocate for services provided by Family & Children Services and support public education.
  • Monitor service outcomes and client satisfaction to guide continuous quality improvement initiatives.
