About The Position

LJ Inc. is hiring a Directional Drill Operator/Locator to operate directional drilling equipment and support underground construction work. The role includes inspecting, greasing, and fueling machinery; preparing equipment and verifying ground conditions before drilling or boring; monitoring equipment operation; and drilling according to blueprints and plans. The operator also installs conduit, assists with potholing and remediation, sets hand holes, accesses construction points as needed, and reads and interprets engineering plans. The position requires maintaining a safe, clean workspace and caring for company equipment and vehicles. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of experience, the ability to push and pull objects and lift or carry up to 50 pounds, a safety-oriented approach, and a valid, unrestricted chauffeur’s license.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily inspections, greasing, and fueling, and operate machinery safely.
• Set up machinery and ensure ground conditions are safe before drilling or boring.
• Monitor the operation of equipment.
• Operate directional drilling equipment according to blueprints and plans.
• Install conduit.
• Assist with potholing and remediation, and set hand holes.
• Access construction points as required.
• Read and interpret engineering plans.
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace, including company equipment and vehicles.
