Reporting to the Vice President, Pharmaprix, the incumbent is accountable for communicating merchandising standards and directions and optimizing allocations for all programs. The Director, Merchandising will ensure that programs developed at a national level are applicable to Pharmaprix. They will review the weekly volume report and assist to adjust where necessary. The Director will action stores’ requests, pull on-hands, and work with the business unit on exit plans. They will be responsible for overseeing the sell thru and communication of weekly on-hands pulled of seasonal stock by working closely with the BU. In addition, the Director will monitor DOH and work with the DMs to improve, plan allocations for large programs, and communicate with the BU on targets.

Requirements

  • University degree in business administration, with focus on risk and/or project management as an asset.
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills, process driven.
  • Proven ability to develop short and long term plans in line with corporate strategies.
  • Excellent communicator up, down and across the enterprise.
  • Strong cross functional capabilities to leverage BU teams, Supply Chain, BCS and store operations.
  • Strong management, negotiation and persuasion skills, optimizing outcomes for all parties concerned.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have strong computer skills (specifically Excel and creating pivot tables).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure programs developed are applicable for Pharmaprix.
  • Oversee the allocation planning process for large programs (Push Analysts to complete).
  • Liaise with the BCS team on a weekly basis to review all inbound availability issues and assist with any mitigation plans.
  • Lead the process for all key total store program mapping.
  • Review weekly pocket guide to ensure all items changing the following week are actioned accordingly.
  • Monitor DOH and work with the District Manager to achieve an optimal level.
  • Take the lead on any forecast or program issues and work with the Category team on resolutions.
  • Review weekly volume report and help adjust where adjust where necessary.
  • Prioritize and balance the allocation workload across the Analyst team, while ensuring the opportunity for cross functionality support of the various category teams.
  • Ensure floor plans built to drive required programs and accommodate flow of inventory to optimize sales, profit and enhanced store execution.
  • Liaise with BU teams on new program launches or enhancements, seasonal flips, to ensure clear understanding of objectives and desired execution.
  • Communicate merchandising standards and direction through Pocket Guide.
  • Action store requests for flow of inventory, while pulling on hand inventory reports and working closely with the Category team on an exit plan.
  • Weekly pull of all on hand inventory of seasonal stock to ensure sell thru. Working closely with the Category team to ensure plans are executed.
  • Coordinate post activity sellout reports to ensure excess inventory is addressed in a timely fashion.
