About The Position

LGI Solutions Santé is seeking exceptional talents who are passionate about technology, naturally curious, and demanding by conviction. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and technological leader responsible for the artificial intelligence innovation laboratory and common platform engineering ecosystem. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this role oversees five key areas: internal AI, AI product technical management, data product technical management, common AI module design, and AI design partnerships. The Principal Director will define the technical vision, orchestrate AI engineering teams, align AI capabilities with business objectives, and position LGI as a leader in healthcare AI. As a change agent, they will inspire their team, drive innovation, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design high-impact AI and data solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related relevant field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology or software engineering, with at least 5 years in roles managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying artificial intelligence systems in production (ML, LLM, RAG, AI agents, data pipelines).
  • In-depth knowledge of modern data platform architectures (data lakehouse, cloud data platforms, data APIs) and MLOps/LLMOps practices.
  • Solid understanding of modern software engineering practices (DevSecOps, CI/CD, service-oriented architecture, micro-services, automated testing) sufficient to arbitrate technical choices and engage in dialogue with engineering teams.
  • Experience in managing technology partners, AI vendors, and external development firms.
  • Strategic thinking and strong execution and delivery capabilities in complex environments.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required for working with documentation and communicating with partners, clients, suppliers, and colleagues in both languages.

  • Training or certification in product management, change management, or an MBA.
  • Strong understanding of AI governance and data protection issues (Law 25, healthcare industry standards).
  • Experience in the digital health, SaaS, or software solutions serving critical infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Define and articulate the technical and strategic vision for LGI Solutions Santé's AI ecosystem and common AI platforms.
  • Develop a multi-year roadmap covering internal AI, AI products, data products, and AI solution design partnerships, in alignment with business priorities.
  • Advise the CTO on emerging trends in AI, data architectures, and platform engineering.
  • Establish the foundations for a structured AI adoption program for all employees, including awareness, training, and development, measuring talent performance improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Design, tool, and evolve shared AI pipelines across the company's functions in collaboration with R&D, ensuring AI experiments adhere to rigorous governance, reproducibility, and scaling frameworks.
  • Foster a culture of applied innovation within their teams, complementing R&D research efforts.
  • Oversee AI products in support of R&D teams from conception to production, ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and scalability of AI products delivered to clients and internal users.
  • Ensure the integration of AI models within LGI Solutions Santé's software solutions.
  • Oversee the development and governance of data platforms (data lakehouse, ETL/ELT pipelines, catalogs, data APIs).
  • Ensure the quality, availability, and security of data used by AI products and analytical teams.
  • Promote best practices in data engineering and governance (compliance with Law 25, quality standards, responsible processing).
  • Lead teams responsible for designing AI software services and common AI modules that power LGI Solutions Santé's products.
  • Implement modern AI-related engineering practices in collaboration with R&D teams.
  • Ensure technical consistency across different platform components.
  • Develop prototypes leveraging advanced AI models and support their transition from prototype to production.
  • Manage relationships with technology partners, AI solution providers, consulting firms, and external collaborators.
  • Evaluate, select, and oversee strategic AI solution design partnerships.
  • Negotiate agreements, ensure deliverable quality, and maintain relationships based on performance and value creation.
  • Establish and maintain a responsible AI governance framework, including model transparency, bias management, data protection, and regulatory compliance (Law 25, healthcare industry standards).
  • Integrate security and confidentiality requirements into all engineering and deployment practices.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize budgets under their responsibility.
  • Prioritize investments based on value, risks, and execution capacity.
  • Ensure sound management of costs, licenses, and outsourced services.
  • Supervise, mobilize, and develop the teams under their responsibility.
  • Define objectives, performance indicators, responsibilities, and priorities for each domain.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Attract, develop, and retain AI and platform engineering talent.
