About The Position

Station Mont Tremblant is seeking a Director of Risk and Safety Management. This strategic role reports to the President and Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for guest safety, developing and promoting a prevention culture, and risk management. The position oversees the building security team and the entire risk management system, including developing prevention protocols and key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Risk Management or equivalent program.
  • Eight (8) to twelve (12) years of relevant experience in risk management.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in team supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written) is necessary, along with strong communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and autonomy.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, diplomacy, analytical rigor, excellent communication, and a strong presence in the field.
  • Skills in motivating and supervising personnel.
  • Ability to assess the financial impact of risk and calculate the return on investment for preventive measures.
  • Ability to move around on skis or snowboard in most areas of the mountain.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership focused on team development to ensure quality succession planning.
  • Support and guide team members in their work, valuing teamwork and recognition.
  • Play a strategic role in risk management, safety management, and the development and promotion of a proactive risk prevention culture.
  • Collaborate with organizational development to create and update training tools for managers to enhance their performance in risk prevention, assessment, and management.
  • Write periodic reports and provide advice to management.
  • Regularly adjust the risk management strategy for effectiveness.
  • Be proactive in managing the safety of guests and company assets.
  • Assist managers in each business unit to prepare targeted action plans for risk reduction.
  • Monitor key performance indicators relevant to risk management.
  • Regularly review internal risk policies and adapt them to new standards.
  • Coordinate interventions during major incidents and provide strategic support to the security supervisor in managing critical situations.
  • Evaluate financial risks related to claims.
  • Lead the event investigation process.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess compliance or preparedness levels in different sectors.
  • Educate, train, and support managers to instill a risk prevention culture within each business unit.
  • Identify and assess risks that could affect the safety of guests and employees.
  • Implement a risk management approach based on relevant data analysis to develop solutions tailored to business needs.
  • Collaborate with organizational development to create and periodically update departmental training tools.
  • Assist the security manager in planning, organizing, and optimizing the human, material, and financial resources of the security department.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, skill development, and performance evaluation of security personnel.
  • Ensure the compliance of security practices with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor security events, investigations, and incidents to identify trends and implement appropriate corrective measures.
  • Develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships with external security partners (site public security, police services, fire services, and other partners) to ensure coordinated interventions, proactive risk management, and organizational resilience.
