About The Position

The Principal Project Manager - Civil Works, reporting to the Vice President of Civil Operations - East, will be responsible for the execution of projects that have been bid on and won.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
  • 15 years of relevant experience in construction project management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project software.
  • Bilingualism (significant asset).
  • High mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and control the execution of construction projects.
  • Prepare bids and execute projects.
  • Negotiate agreements with subcontractors, sign letters of intent after discussion with the Vice President, and review and sign subcontractor agreements.
  • Lead Project Managers and Superintendents, ensuring that work on construction sites meets established standards and objectives for quality, safety, work relations, quantity, timelines, and costs, and taking necessary corrective actions.
  • Assist the Vice President in negotiating client contract terms.
  • Monthly analyze project cost control reports with the Project Managers under their responsibility and report to the Vice President.
  • Assign personnel to construction sites and control the productivity of human resources under their jurisdiction.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by adhering to safety, cost, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Ensure the application and compliance with EBC's health and safety standards and project-specific prevention programs.
  • Apply the company's quality system in accordance with ISO standards and monitor procedures with execution personnel.
  • Be responsible for project kick-off meetings, periodic reviews, post-mortems, and participation in planning reviews.
  • Discuss legal matters or disputes with the Vice President and ensure proper documentation.
  • Evaluate personnel under their responsibility according to company policies and ensure their development.
  • Perform all other tasks required for the execution of their mandate.
