While working toward obtaining education credentials required to become a Temporary Registered Alcohol & Drug Peer Support Specialist (TRAD PSS) as defined by the state regulations and the Kentucky Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors, acts exclusively in the capacity of a Direct Support Specialist. This role involves teaching, modeling, and coaching activities of daily living (ADL), planning and facilitating community-based activities, contributing to a safe and therapeutic environment, serving as an ambassador for the organization and its clients, collaborating with community systems, providing transportation, offering personal care as needed, administering First Aid and CPR, supervising self-administered medication, identifying food and/or medication allergies, communicating relevant information to staff and providers, documenting services provided, and maintaining confidentiality of protected health information. The position requires attendance and participation in all required staff and service planning meetings and trainings.
