About The Position

Join our dynamic team at DDRC in Denver/Lakewood, CO, as a Direct Support Professional! Schedule: Friday 10a-6p Saturday 9a-9p Sunday 9a-9p Monday 3p-11p Compensation Rate of pay - $20.50/hour Medical Benefits - $30/month for an individual (opportunity to add dependents) $750 deductible, 100% covered after. Requirements

  • At least one year of paid work or related volunteer experience, particularly with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting others are vital.
  • Current driver's license along with a motor vehicle record that meets DDRC Policy.
  • Willingness to drive a large van and a variety of vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills will aid in necessary documentation.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • A willingness to learn, a problem-solving mindset, and a compassionate spirit are essential traits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized in home and community supports that help people develop or maintain skills to live life as independently as possible
  • Advocate for and champion the rights, dignity and choice of the people served
  • Assist people with maintaining relationships with friends and family and natural supports that are important to them
  • Plan community activities that align with choice and that facilitate true community integration and inclusion
  • Support with medical or behavioral interventions that promote dignity and age appropriateness
  • Create opportunities for people to explore personal passions, hobbies and to access education for new experiences
  • Complete factual, timely documentation related to the people served
  • Foster a strong sense of belonging and inclusion with people served, team mates and greater community
  • Provide transportation to appointments and community activities
