About The Position
Venture Community Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to advocate for and support adults age 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to be as active as possible in their lives. Support may include household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, and teeth brushing. DSPs may also assist individuals with medical appointments and banking, help them participate in their community and attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans and goals, and comply with established medical guidelines. The role includes paid new employee orientation and paid training in CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and the Medication Administration Program (MAP), as well as program- and person-specific training in the individual's home. DSPs must be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home during an emergency, maintain certifications, follow Agency policies, and comply with DDS regulations and policies. The listed schedule is Wednesday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The position is listed as part-time at 37 hours. Pay is $17.50–$19.00 per hour. A sign-on bonus is offered: $500 for part-time employees and $1,000 for full-time employees.

- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing ability.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet program and individual needs, potentially including holidays, overnights, or double shifts.
- Ability to safely evacuate individuals from the home during an emergency.
Responsibilities
