Direct Support Professional - Part-Time
About The Position
Learning Services, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner, is hiring part-time Direct Support Professionals for its residential program in Escondido, California. The organization provides neurological rehabilitation to adults with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries, including treatment for post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues, and accident- or sports-related head injuries. The role provides varying levels of assistance and supervision to support clients’ success with daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits. Candidates must be comfortable working with medically complicated and behaviorally challenged clients. The hourly rate is $21–$24, based on experience and education.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Comfort working with a variety of medically complicated and behaviorally challenged clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote clients’ success in daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits.
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Assist clients with therapies.
- Drive and accompany clients to appointments, activities, and other outings.
