DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL-HOURLY
About The Position
Resources for Human Development (RHD) is seeking compassionate, dedicated professionals for the Direct Support Professional role. This position is full-time and located within the Community Passages program, specifically at 69 Grubbs Rd and 8036 Saltsburg Rd. RHD Mainstay is a supervised community-based residential program designed to provide a range of established and innovative rehabilitation strategies for adults with developmental disabilities. The program focuses on community and personal safety, accountability, competence, least restrictive alternative, normalization, due process, and control. RHD has been dedicated to improving lives through high-quality services and support for over 50 years. Employees play a vital role in helping individuals achieve greater independence, confidence, and success while promoting dignity, respect, inclusion, and personal choice. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related field preferred.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
- Must participate in all onboarding requirements including criminal background and driver's record check.
Nice To Haves
- Further education in a related field is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support clients in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
- Foster a positive and respectful relationship with clients while promoting their independence and personal choices.
- Assist clients in developing skills for everyday living and participate in social and recreational activities.
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records of care and support provided.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
