About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) ensures residents’ health and safety by providing support identified in their Individual Support Plans and collecting data and documenting the supports provided. The role assists adults with developmental disabilities in daily life activities in routine and dynamic environments. It may provide experience in human services and the opportunity to contribute to Cornerstone Support Services’ mission of empowering service recipients to live self-directed lives through a safe and healthy support structure.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Compassion for the care and well-being of others.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and guidance for residents during skill-building activities.
• Implement individual support plans for residents.
• Assist with daily living activities, including preparing meals and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Develop rapport with residents and cultivate safe, supportive relationships.
• Update resident case notes daily.
• Ensure an appropriate staff-to-client ratio at all times.
