(ASI-OR) has one goal in mind: Supporting People to Experience Meaningful Lives. A Day in the Life of a Direct Support Professional (DSP): As a Grave/Overnight DSP, you'll help create a safe, calm, and supportive environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including some with complex support needs and behavioral challenges. Throughout the night, you'll complete safety checks, assist with personal care needs, document important information, administer medications as needed, and maintain a comfortable home environment. Some individuals may require additional overnight support, and you'll use the training and tools provided to respond with patience, compassion, and confidence. Through a person-centered approach, you'll help ensure each individual is treated with dignity and respect while supporting their opportunity to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. By the end of your shift, you'll know you've played an important role in promoting health, safety, stability, and success for the day ahead.

Requirements

Solid understanding of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)
Keen awareness of health, safety, and emergency procedures
Familiarity with personal care and daily living assistance
Grasp of confidentiality and professional boundaries
Communication skills: able to listen actively, speak clearly, and document accurately
Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and positive relationships
Ability to solve problems calmly
Ability to adapt to surprises
Excellent time management skills
Ability to work independently
Valid driver's license
Physical ability to assist with daily activities
General knowledge of community resources and activities
