Direct Support Professional (DSP)
About The Position
BAYADA Home Health Care is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join the team in Centre County PA. BAYADA’s special needs caregivers - Direct Support Professionals DSPs - work one-on-one in home and community settings as a companion and mentor for individuals with intellectual or developmental disability to help them reach their full potential. With our Direct Support Professional position, you can work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to help them live better lives at home and in their communities! You’ll teach them to do things for themselves, helping them live more independent, purposeful lives.
Requirements
- One year experience working or volunteering with intellectual and development disabilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age or older
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance (dressing, grooming, basic hygiene)
- Accompany clients on errands and appointments
- Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
- Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
- Participate in community integration activities
