About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is seeking a full-time Residential Direct Support Professional in Brockport, New York. The role supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in fostering independence, dignity, and respect. The schedule is Saturday through Wednesday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., with Thursday and Friday off. The starting wage is $21.55 per hour. No prior experience is required; paid onboarding, coaching, training, and ongoing professional development are provided.

Requirements

• No prior experience is required.
• Be dependable, friendly, caring, and trustworthy.
• Meet Lifetime Assistance’s Vehicle Operator requirements; the stated exception applies to overnight and relief shifts.
• Have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR, SCIP-R, and Medication Administration certifications.
• Pass required background checks and clearances, including SCR, fingerprinting, SEL, and MHL.
• Be able to follow individualized plans and safety protocols.
• Have basic computer literacy for documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
• Have clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate problem-solving ability and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meals, and household tasks such as thorough cleaning.
• Support individuals in developing independence, self-help, and social skills.
• Help ensure individuals’ health, safety, and well-being, including administering medication if certified.
• Implement individualized service plans and daily supports, and document progress.
• Encourage community integration and participation in social and recreational activities.
• Drive agency vehicles for transportation as needed.
• Maintain positive, professional communication with individuals, families, and colleagues.
• Complete required training, certifications, and ongoing professional development.
