About The Position

Merakey is seeking Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team at their program in Chico, CA. This role involves providing personal care and support to clients with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The position aims to enhance the health, safety, dignity, and contentment of consumers by assisting and training them in personal care, communication, and social skill development. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for individuals with a heart for caregiving.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's), especially personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing
• Prior experience in a caregiving, personal care assistant, or home health aide role

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to clients who live in the home.
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, and companionship.
• Help with ambulation, transferring, and range of motion exercises.
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways.
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading, and hobbies.
• Interact and support individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings including community, family or individual homes, and generic community settings.
• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities with co-occurring medical support needs in a residential setting.
